It's outside the department store in Goldenrod, and Micchy is wearing a coat that... doesn't quite go with his shoes but you know what, he's trying.]

[But the focus is less on the coat and more on the Mareep that Micchy is... doing his best to wrestle into a sweater. It's not exactly cut for something with four legs but he's doing his damndest to get it into the thing.]

[A laugh of Kaa kaadabraaa! can be heard behind the camera, and Micchy looks up to see Yoshiro filming them, his eyes wide.]

H-hey! Turn that off now!

[He reaches for the Pokegear and snatches it out of the Psychic-type's clutches, turning the video off.]

True, but against the things I was fighting at home, my biology classes weren't that useful. Here... maybe a little more, given that some Pokemon are at least close to some animals I know...

Well it's amazing you managed at all then. Armor and riding are both skills that need quite a bit of practice to master in my experience.

... Though as I'm often reminded, in this world someone like me would probably be considered the ridden.

Ah, well, it wasn't much riding of actual things. We did have motorcycles but the name came from the nickname 'Beat Riders' which is what the various dance groups were collectively called.

There's a squirrel that shoots electricity in a tiny ball in my bag, along with a giant rock snake. Logic doesn't really have much of a place here. But... I guess that makes sense, since you wouldn't be able to hold a Pokeball or something with hooves, right?

Well, telekinesis is one of the spells I have a powerful grasp on, but that wouldn't have particularly helped my pegasi and earth pony friends. So I suppose that's part of it.

To be honest, I'm almost more interested in the "how" than the "why". But I've been here about three and a half years and I still have no idea about the answer to that question.

You mean the Legendaries? I've been doing plenty of research on them, but none of the stories I've found match up to something like this.

Oh. I hadn't even considered that... There are really powers on your world that can change a person's species? I mean, granted there are a few on mine as well, but they're all on extreme levels of the power spectrum. Deity like, really.

Well... I know of something else that can forcibly change someone's species, but in that case it wouldn't be something that you would want.

But the thing I was thinking of is considered the object of ultimate power in my world, so essentially yes, you would be like a deity.

Wait, your world has an object that makes the bearer omnipotent? That sounds terrifyingly ripe for abuse.

Not fully omnipotent, I think, but as close as possible to it. It's absolutely able to be abused, which... it looks like that's going to be the case with the way things have gone.

The person with the best chance of stopping that is dead.

[Maybe Kaito wouldn't be so bad... but it still wouldn't be that good.]

There is. It's... well. To say it's gotten 'bad' is somewhat understating it.
