[The camerawork in this video is... actually fairly professional, because it's being held in place by a Psychic Pokemon who will levitate whatever he pleases. It's outside the department store in Goldenrod, and Micchy is wearing a coat that... doesn't quite go with his shoes but you know what, he's trying.]

[But the focus is less on the coat and more on the Mareep that Micchy is... doing his best to wrestle into a sweater. It's not exactly cut for something with four legs but he's doing his damndest to get it into the thing.]

Don't give me that, your wool is going to get wet and then you'll be really unhappy and the static will get everywhere.

[A laugh of Kaa kaadabraaa! can be heard behind the camera, and Micchy looks up to see Yoshiro filming them, his eyes wide.]

H-hey! Turn that off now!

[He reaches for the Pokegear and snatches it out of the Psychic-type's clutches, turning the video off.]

Not a bad idea. Trying to ground yourself before touching her would also help.

That's not a bad idea. I do have a ground type that might be helpful... but I think she's a little too big to let out here.

There have to be other things that are grounded around there. If you can find something rubber that would probably be ideal.

If those are at all decently insulated they should help. Or you could see if you can pick up a pack of rubber gloves.

... Oh yeah. I've... never really dealt with electricity much aside from my Pachirisu.

Something like that. I've taught her to be very precise in her strikes. She's gotten good at that.

Handy. But I guess not the easiest thing to teach a creature that's basically covered in static electricity.

Assumptions like that are pretty much never going to help you. You have an encyclopedia about your Pokemon literally at your fingertips. Use it.

[The tone makes his eyes narrow for a moment, but he bites back his initial response. She's right, and the fight seems to drain out of his expression before he just nods.]

Well, that's useful information right away. I hope he wasn't too upset at you calling him a girl... though he might be too young to care.

Maybe I should wait until you dry off to try that... and have a ground type nearby.

In the meantime, I'd suggest doing as much research as you can on the species. Knowledge is your best tool when adding a new member to your team.

I suppose. Though judging from the Pokedex, it should evolve soon. So maybe I'll get back to you on its next evolution.

Maybe I should have said Mareep's evolution line. Well, either way, no knowledge is ever wasted.

I guess not. It's not the sort of topic I would have studied at home, but here we don't have much of a choice but to learn a lot about creatures like this.

Just think of it as an application of biology.
