This is a little bit embarrassing, but how do you get used to camping outside? I need to travel some more to get to places but I always feel like I'm not really camping right. I never really did it at home, so I'm not very used to it.

[And there's the fact that he really doesn't like forests since... well. It reminds him of that place.]

What kind of tips have you all picked up on the road? I'm kind of curious.

Different. Really, really different. And super energetic. Likes bears a lot. And he hits on every girl her sees.

ive been outside plenty. I just hadnt camped much before i got here.

I'm surprised more trainers haven't gotten themselves lost inside.

Take a lot of protein-heavy food.

Even if the calendar claims to have perfect weather for the duration of your camping trip, always prepare for rain.

If you're planning on walking every day, invest in a sturdy walking stick. Although if you have a Pokemon you can ride on you can probably survive with a large stick you find while hiking.

Sorry for giving you advice without properly introducing myself; I've just been camping before.

Camping can be a very unique experience, but if you aren't prepared for it you're just going to make yourself miserable. Let's start with the basics.

Make sure you have the proper supplies. A well-made, sturdy tent that you can get up easily and a warm sleeping bag. Cookware designed to be used out of doors over a fire, and food designed to be preserved for several days. Remember that you'll be getting a great deal of exercise, so the food you take will need to be enough to support you through that. Don't skimp on meals.

Learn how to spot good campsites. If you set up your tent in a bad position you won't be getting any decent sleep. You're looking for flat areas with grass that's thick but not too tall. This is the sort of thing you should start looking for at least a couple hours before the sun goes down.

Don't hesitate to take breaks during the day. You're not rushing through this, and you shouldn't push yourself. You'll be straining your body enough already.

And remember, stay hydrated. Dehydration is unpleasant at the best of times, when you're trying to cover a lot of ground in a day it can be outright torture.

I've got one on my team that I can ride on, so that won't be too much of a problem. She might be a little slow, but I'm not really in a hurry. I just kind of want to travel just to travel.

Yes. It's unusual to see small towns, unless you go out into the countryside. And even those sorts of places are disappearing as more and more people move to the cities.

Definitely passing on that one. I don't need to deal with that. It sounds pretty terrible.

I think I'll have to start learning how to set up my tent properly. It should be too hard... I bet there's a store I can go to where they'll show me.

Exercise doesn't bother me, but I'm not intending to go to anywhere that's too forested or hilly. I just want to get used to traveling again, because staying in one city seems... bad.

I do know about dehydration, though. I used to be on a dance team and we had problems until we started instituting mandatory water breaks.

Not a bad reason to travel. I haven't been here long but it seems like most places here seem to be pretty easy for beginners.

The beginning areas are apparently a lot easier for new people than the areas further from them. But it shouldn't be too bad... I've just never gone camping at home.

I don't really need to widen my team pool right now, but I should at least look into what's in the areas I'm going to be traveling in.

I figured more information would be better, even if some of it might be things you're already familiar with. Better to be redundant than to miss something important.

Did your tent not come with instructions, though? That's a bit of an oversight.

Then... do a lot of people dislike small towns?

No, it has directions, but I'm not exactly very good at outdoors... things.

I'm not sure if it's that more than there's just more opportunities in cities - better jobs, better access to services, and more people.

Mm. That does make sense... there is much more to do in places like Celadon City. But... I think smaller towns have a cozier feel.
