So I was talking with a few people and I was wondering - what sort of music does everyone like listening to? I listened to a lot of pop music at home, since I was on a dance team, but I'm just curious as to what everyone else's musical tastes are like.

I'm also wondering something about Riolu evolutions. Mine hasn't evolved yet. I've heard that it's based on 'friendship', but how is that exactly counted? I think I've been pretty nice to mine, but I don't know how it's really counted. Am I missing something?

As far as I know, the level of 'friendship' your Pokemon has varies depending on how long it has been with you or how much it likes you. I don't think there is a hard rule that tells you when they should evolve, but I do know it takes a few months at least.

I don't know if I can say there is a certain type of music I like specifically. ...it varies too, I suppose.

I've had him for a bit. I don't think he dislikes me, but I don't know if he specifically likes me.

It sometimes depends on my mood. I listened to a lot of classical music in my house since that's what my brother liked.

You'll likely just have to wait. He may evolve soon, in a few months, or not at all.

I've never owned a Riolu, so I don't know that I'll be particularly helpful there... As for your first question, though, I don't listen to it as much as I like to play it, but I've always been fond of the European classical composers. Beethoven and Chopin and Dvorak, Bach and Rachmaninov...the power of their compositions is alluring, and they've been there for me in my darker hours besides.

And my brother was more fond of classical music, though I'm not sure if he really liked it so much as didn't mind it more than other music... or if he just thought he was supposed to like it.

Piano, primarily. I know some violin, but my servant took to it far more than I did; I also play pipe organ, when I can find one and feel like a challenge. I used to break into churches sometimes for the sake of teaching myself and practicing, actually.

I've never really understood how people can not like music, though. I suppose that's because it's always been such a large part of my life.

Well, it... fit with our family's image. His tastes seemed to change a lot since we were younger.

I don't play any instruments, myself. I tried piano and violin, but I've always been more of a fan of moving to music rather than creating it myself.

I have. I've been venturing out of town a little more. My Pokemon are starting to get restless without some real challenges to take on.

One of my Pokemon took more than a few months to finally evolve, so.

[It was his Espeon, of course.]

And as I said, not all Pokemon evolve. If he doesn't want to, he may never will.

I'm assuming you do want a Lucario, though, yes? I would try not to settle for just letting him stay the way he is, unless you're willing to just get another Riolu in the future.

I just usually listens to video game music back home, so a bit of everything, depending on the soundtrack.

As for "friendship", it depends on your Pokemon, how long they've been with you and how much it likes you. Generally a few months of spending time with them or so.

I do, but forcing him to be something he doesn't want to be is just going to end badly. He knows I'm his trainer and he knows he should listen to me, but if I force him to evolve and he doesn't want to he probably won't like me very much and it will make it difficult to train him in the future.
